A simple and chic micro wedding
When Mairi and Jack told me they were getting married at the Southwark Registry Office, I couldn’t resist capturing the moment for them. Their wedding was simple and intimate, with just a few close family members and friends present. Mairi wore a chic denim dress, and after the ceremony, they celebrated with pizza alongside her siblings and friends.
This wasn’t their main celebration—set for a week later at the beautiful Asylum Chapel and the Lordship Pub—but they still wanted a few professional photos to remember their legal day.
Why Should You Photograph Your Micro Wedding?
For many couples, the registry office or micro wedding is about the legal part. But it’s also a meaningful step in your love story, and it deserves to be documented. These smaller ceremonies are often full of joy, raw emotion, and moments you’ll want to reflect on.
Even though this was a quick, no-fuss ceremony, capturing these moments ensured Mairi and Jack had beautiful photos to remember this part of their journey. I spent 30 minutes with them, documenting the little moments that made their day special before hopping back on the bus home (Southwark is just down the road from me!).
Why I Love Photographing Micro Weddings
There’s something magical about the laid-back vibe of micro weddings and registry office ceremonies. Couples can truly relax and be in the moment without the pressure of a big production. These weddings are deeply personal, whether it’s just the two of you or a small gathering of loved ones.
For Mairi and Jack, their Southwark Registry Office ceremony was all about having fun and marking the occasion in their own way. It was simple, meaningful, and completely reflective of who they are as a couple.
The Importance of Capturing Every Part of Your Story
Whether it’s your micro wedding, legal ceremony, or your big celebration, having photos to look back on is so important. Each moment tells a different part of your story. Mairi and Jack’s week was a perfect example of this—two very different celebrations, but equally special.
So, if you’re planning a small ceremony in London or anywhere nearby, I’d love to help you capture it. Whether it’s a quick half-hour session or full-day coverage, no moment is too small to be documented.
