Photographing a London Micro Wedding in South East London
As a South East London wedding photographer, I enjoyed working with Jodie and Lily for their intimate wedding at the Southwark Registry Office. The couple, who live in Bermondsey, wanted a simple celebration with just their closest family members, and they chose the Southwark Registry Office for its convenient location.
Jodie and Lily met just before the pandemic, and their relationship blossomed during the lockdown. Jodie and Lily embraced the idea of having a small, relaxed wedding. Their approach was uncomplicated, mirroring their easy-going personalities and making the planning process stress-free.
The day of the wedding was filled with warmth and joy. The intimate ceremony at Southwark was a beautiful celebration, with the couple's family members sharing in their excitement. I captured the day naturally, focusing on the candid moments and genuine interactions that truly represented their story.
After the ceremony, we set off for some photographs around Bermondsey, starting with a visit to their favourite coffee shop, Monmouth. It was a lovely way to kick off the next part of the day. From there, we strolled along the railway arches, soaking in the local atmosphere and capturing the essence of their neighbourhood as we made our way toward Tower Bridge. The backdrop of the iconic bridge added a beautiful touch to their photos.
Finally, we headed to the Dean Street pub, where they met up with their guests. It was a perfect spot to continue the celebrations in a relaxed setting surrounded by family and friends.
Moments like these remind me why I love being a wedding photographer in South East London. Each couple has their own story, and it's my job to photograph those authentic experiences. For Jodie and Lily, their wedding was about togetherness, family, and celebrating the next chapter of their journey..
