Sandra & John’s Chic Mid-Week Micro Wedding at Woolwich Town Hall

Sandra and John's wedding at Woolwich Town Hall beautifully demonstrated that small, intimate weddings can be just as meaningful and charming as larger ones. Their special day focused on celebrating their love with their closest family and friends, all while keeping everything local to South East London, where they live and have built their lives together.

Keeping It Local: A South East London Love Story

Sandra grew up in Woolwich, so choosing Woolwich Town Hall as the place to say their vows felt wonderfully fitting. Living in nearby Greenwich, the couple wanted to keep their wedding day simple, relaxed, and local—reflecting their lives together and their connection to this part of London. They also chose me, a South East London-based photographer, to document their day, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be part of it.

The ceremony was small but full of love and warmth, with just their grown-up children, grandchild, and Sandra’s mum in attendance. Sandra and John’s choice to keep the guest list intimate allowed them to focus entirely on what mattered most: each other and their closest family.

Low-Key Yet Chic

Despite the small scale of the day, Sandra & John’s wedding was effortlessly chic. Sandra looked stunning in a simple yet elegant outfit, while John looked sharp in a classic suit. Their mid-week ceremony at Woolwich Town Hall was relaxed but full of heartfelt moments, and the Edwardian architecture of the venue provided a gorgeous backdrop for their photos.

After they exchanged vows, we took a short taxi ride to the iconic Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, where Sandra and John had booked a private room for their family to enjoy a meal and drinks. The setting was perfect—quaint, intimate, and full of character, just like their wedding day.

A Quick Photo Session at the Old Royal Naval College

After the ceremony and before the celebrations began, we stepped outside for a brief photo session at the nearby Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. It was a cold day, so we didn’t stay outside for long, but we made the most of our time, capturing some truly memorable images of Sandra, John, and their family.

Even in the chill of winter, the stunning backdrop of the Naval College added a timeless elegance to their photos. It’s one of my favourite spots in Greenwich for wedding photography, as its grand architecture and riverside views never fail to deliver.

Why Woolwich Town Hall and Greenwich Are Perfect for Weddings

For couples planning a micro wedding or an intimate celebration, Woolwich Town Hall is an excellent choice. Its stunning interiors and historic charm make it a standout venue for registry office weddings.

Paired with Greenwich for portraits or a reception venue like the Trafalgar Tavern, this combination offers couples a seamless blend of tradition and romance, all within a stone’s throw of South East London. Whether it’s the grand steps of Woolwich Town Hall or the iconic views at Greenwich, the area has so much to offer for small weddings.
