There are few venues in London as iconic as the Royal Albert Hall. Photographing Gary Barlow’s Songbook Tour was an unforgettable experience, not just because of the music but also because of the energy, atmosphere, and storytelling that come with photographing such a world-renowned stage.


As a photographer, whether I’m working as a celebrity photographer in London, documenting famous musicians, or capturing a couple’s wedding day, the principles are strikingly similar. There are the main stars (the couple, or in this case, Gary Barlow), but there’s also so much happening around them: the reactions, the crowd, the quiet in-between moments. It’s about anticipating the story as it unfolds and being in the right place at the right time.

At a wedding, the focus is often on the couple, but countless layers of interaction are happening alongside them: family glances, spontaneous laughter, and the nervous excitement before the vows. Photographing at the Royal Albert Hall


The Royal Albert Hall is one of those venues that feels electric the moment you walk in. With its sweeping balconies and dramatic lighting, it offers a stage that’s both grand and intimate. Shooting Gary Barlow’s performance there felt like being at the heart of something iconic — the challenge is to translate that atmosphere into images that truly reflect the experience.
