Millie and Francesca celebrated their wedding across two very different London days. It began on a rainy Monday at Marylebone Town Hall, with their parents, families and two best friends joining them in the Soho Room. No one was given away; they walked into the ceremony together. By the time we stepped outside, the rain had called it a day, leaving time for confetti on the steps, photographs around Marylebone and a cab to The Barley Mow for a pint — married, midweek and still in their wedding clothes.


Five days later, everyone came together again at One Friendly Place in Blackheath. Saturday started quietly too, with Millie and Francesca and their parents getting the room ready before everyone arrived. Millie wore a white suit, Francesca a white dress with a single line of pink stitched through it, and both wore trainers designed for the day. They hadn't planned a first look, but as friends and family began arriving through the front door, they ended up having several anyway.


The details felt completely personal to them. At every place was a napkin hand-sewn by Francesca with the guest's name, alongside chocolate bars rewrapped especially for the day. Speeches came in two halves — parents before dinner and best friends just before the tiramisu from The Camberwell Arms, which deserved almost as much attention as the newlyweds. The whole celebration felt thoughtful without being overly formal, with the character of One Friendly Place becoming part of the day rather than simply its backdrop.


There was no traditional first dance. Instead, the whole dance floor became the first dance, and once the Irish side of Francesca's family got going, it stayed that way. What I loved about photographing these two days was how different they felt while still belonging completely together: the intimacy of a Monday ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall followed by a colourful Saturday celebration surrounded by everyone they loved. Two days, two very different London spaces, and a wedding shaped entirely around how Millie and Francesca wanted to celebrate.
