A Monday ceremony with their closest4 people.
The party, five days later, in a Blackheath studio.
Just parents, family and two best friends in the Soho Room at Marylebone Town Hall.
No one is given away.
They walk in together.
Nobody quite cries.
It's closed the whole way through.
It rains all morning.
By the time we step outside, it has stopped.
Then a cab.
A pint at The Barley Mow around the corner.
Married, midweek, still in their wedding clothes.
Five days later, in Blackheath...
Saturday starts quietly too.
The two of them and their parents make the room ready.
Millie in a white suit.
Francesca in a white dress with a single line of pink stitched through it.
Both of them in trainers designed for the day.
Nobody planned a first look.
But none of their people had seen them yet, so the front door kept providing them anyway.
"…present on the day, whilst also giving everyone space."
— Millie & Francesca
At every place, a napkin with the guest's name, each one hand-sewn by Francesca and a chocolate bar rewrapped for the day.
The speeches come in two halves — parents before dinner, best friends held back until just before the tiramisu, which comes from The Camberwell Arms and gets photographed like a member of the family.
No first dance, the whole floor is the first dance. And when the Irish side of Francesca's family gets going, it stays that way.
